Perfect Start: Al-Ahli’s Biggest Wins in the First Matchdays of The Pro League 

The journey of our first football team in the new Roshn Saudi League season will kick-off on Friday, and the target is to claim the three points from the match against Al-Orobah, in front of Al-Ahli fans at King Abdullah Sports City. Ahead of this awaited match, we go back to the previous Pro League seasons to remember Al-Ahli’s five biggest wins on the first matchday.

2012-2013

Al-Ahli 5:0 Al-Shoulla

Al-Ahli started their 2012-2013 campaign with a 5:0 win over Al-Shoulla, at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. Four of the goals were scored in the first half, by Victor Simoes, Eissa Al-Mehyani, Yasser Al-Fahmi, and Taiseer Al-Jassim. Al-Mehyani scored his second personal goal in the second half.

2013-2014

Al-Ahli 3:1 Al-Faisaly

The first match of the 2013-2014 was played away, at Al-Majma’a Sports City, as Al-Ahli defeated hosts Al-Faisaly 3:1. Center back Osama Hawsawi scored the first goal on the 6th minute, and two goals were added in the second half by Suk Hyun-Jun and Bruno Cesar.

2014-2015

Al-Ahli 6:1 Hajer

Al-Ahli had their biggest win in a Pro League season opener, in 2014, defeating Hajer 6:1 at King Abdullah Sports City. Saleh Al-Amri and Omar Al-Somah scored the first two goals in the first half. Four goals were added in the second through Hussain Al-Mogahwi, Isaac Promise, and a brace by Al-Somah.

2016-2017

Al-Ahli 4:1 Al-Ettifaq

Al-Ahli started the 2016-2017 season in Al-Dammam, scoring a 4:1 win over Al-Ettifaq at Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium. Omar Al-Somah scored two of the goals. Mustafa Al-Bassas and Taiseer Al-Jassim added the remaining two.

2023-2024

Al-Ahli 3:1 Al-Hazem (Photo)

Al-Ahli hosted Al-Hazem on the first matchday of the previous season, at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, and it was a night to remember for Roberto Firmino, who scored two goals during the first ten minutes, before completing his hattrick in the second half.
