AlAhli Conclude Pre Season Camp Ahead of the 2026–27 Campaign
AlAhli Saudi FC have concluded their first-team pre-season training camp, held from 3 July to 28 July 2026 in Spain and Portugal, as part of the club’s preparations for the new season and the upcoming domestic, continental and global competitions.
The team’s delegation returned to Jeddah on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, following a comprehensive preparation period that featured intensive technical and physical training sessions, alongside a series of friendly matches aimed at assessing player readiness, strengthening team cohesion and evaluating the squad’s performance ahead of the official start of competitive action.
During the camp, AlAhli played six friendly fixtures against different opponents, beginning with a dominant 8-0 victory over FC Pinzgau. Sebastian opened the scoring in the 29th minute, before Saleh Abu Al-Shamat doubled the lead in the 39th minute. Ricardo Matias added the third goal in first-half stoppage time (45+2), followed by Mishal Al-Mutairi’s strike in the 51st minute. Matias scored his second goal of the match in the 58th minute, while Yaseen Al-Zubaidi added the sixth in the 62nd minute. Mousa Abu Bakr completed the scoring with two goals in the 68th and 84th minutes.
In their second friendly fixture, AlAhli faced Holstein, with the match ending in a 4-1 defeat. Ricardo Matias scored AlAhli’s only goal in the 22nd minute, while the opposition found the net in the 42nd, 45+5th, 50th and 61st minutes.
AlAhli then secured a 2-2 draw against Rio Ave after making a strong start to the match. Matheus Gonçalves opened the scoring in the third minute, followed by Firas Al-Buraikan’s goal in the seventh minute. Rio Ave responded with two goals in the 73rd and 90+1st minutes to share the points.
The team also faced Vitória Guimarães in another friendly encounter, which ended in a 3-1 defeat. Matheus Gonçalves scored AlAhli’s goal in the 46th minute after the Portuguese side had taken a three-goal lead through strikes in the 9th, 13th and 25th minutes.
AlAhli’s next friendly match saw them face Portimonense, with the Portuguese side securing a 2-0 victory after scoring in the 33rd and 76th minutes.
The team concluded its friendly schedule with a match against English side Fulham, ending in a 1-1 draw. Ricardo Matias gave AlAhli the lead in the 20th minute, before Ryan Sessegnon equalised for Fulham in the 40th minute.
The pre-season camp represented an important step in AlAhli’s preparations for the upcoming campaign, with the technical staff focusing on enhancing physical and tactical readiness, improving team understanding and implementing key tactical aspects ahead of a season filled with challenges across multiple competitions.
