Al Ahli Club Company Appoints Dr. Mubarak AlMutawa as the club’s Medical Director
Al Ahli Club Company has appointed Dr. Mubarak AlMutawa as Director of the Medical Department, in line with the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its organizational structure and attract highly qualified national talent that can support its long‑term ambitions.
This decision reflects the Board’s belief in the strategic importance of developing the club’s medical system and sports science capabilities as a core pillar of team performance, helping to ensure that players maintain consistently high levels of fitness in accordance with the latest international standards.
Dr. AlMutawa is regarded as one of the leading Saudi experts in sports and preventive medicine, with more than twenty years of experience. He is also considered among the first researchers to study sports injuries in Saudi football at the level of the senior national team and Saudi Pro League clubs.
Throughout his career, Dr. AlMutawa has held a number of key leadership roles, including Chair of the Medical Committee at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and member of the senior national team’s medical staff for thirteen years. He has also served as Chair of the National Committee for Sports Medicine at the Federation of Saudi Chambers and as a Sports Medicine Consultant at the FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in Dubai.
He has an extensive track record in establishing and managing sports medicine centers both inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as overseeing medical units at clubs and national teams. Internationally, he is the first Arab and Asian to serve on the board of the European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians, in addition to his previous role as Vice Chair of the Medical Committee at the Union of Arab Football Associations and his current membership on the Advisory Board of the College of Sport Sciences and Physical Activity.
In his new role, Dr. AlMutawa will oversee the club’s overall medical strategy and lead the development of prevention and recovery programs, ensuring close coordination between the medical staff and technical teams and providing a professional environment that reflects Al Ahli’s status and ambitions.
