Al Ahli defeats Al-Riyadh 1–0 in Roshn League Round 24
Al Ahli’s first team earned a 1–0 win away to Al-Riyadh in their Roshn Saudi League Round 24 game at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.
Al Ahli started brightly, looking to impose their style and carving out several openings in advanced areas, but the first half finished goalless after a Roger Ibañez effort was ruled out for offside.
After the break, a Wenderson Galeno goal was also disallowed for offside, before Al Ahli finally opened the scoring in the 75th minute with an own goal, as the Al-Riyadh goalkeeper inadvertently turned a corner into his own net. Encouraged by the lead, Al Ahli pressed for a second, only for an Ivan Toney strike in the 85th minute to be ruled offside as well. The defense stayed organized, and Edouard Mendy preserved his clean sheet until the referee signaled full time.
The win moves Al Ahli on to 59 points in the Roshn League, keeping them well positioned as the season enters its closing stages.
